The boy on the right has curly brown hair, glasses, and is wearing a dark sweater and black pants.

My Teaching Strategies

In my lectures, I take an authentic care-centered teaching approach. This approach involves centering my work as a professor around the needs of my students, for example, through intentional language choices in the course syllabus.

An essential element of this approach is bringing my most authentic self into the classroom while providing genuine care and support for students. By creating a culture of care in my lecture classes, I foster a strong sense of belonging, which in turn promotes higher levels of engagement and attendance.

Much of this approach is discussed in greater detail in Wilfrid Laurier University’s Faculty Spotlight. (Link Here)
